Plant Research Devices
The Beacon is a multi-modal point sensor that collects data on the temperature, humidity, light, and air pressure of a specific point in space in lab and field environments. They are integrated into the Capsule via Wi-Fi to collect measurements in the canopy and sub-canopy, sampling from plants that are not visible to overhead cameras.

Custom electronics were developed to interface with nature. The general idea was to build nature <> computer interfaces. Similar to a mouse or keyboard for humans, these devices were meant to be bridges between plants and computational infrastructure. The specific circuits here are developed as a digital nose for the sensing of VOCs.
Low Power Remote Sensing
Minimal gas sensing beacon running on two AA batteries (L91)
Beacons connect on a LoRA (long range) mesh network, passing messages between each other to reach a shared gateway (approximately 100 beacons per gateway).
Each PCB is designed to fit the profile of a Dime (about 19mm in diameter)
