Manhatta was developed as a conceptual art piece for Francis Ford Coppola’s movie Megalopolis. The models show the destruction and rebirth of NYC through ecology. The models themselves were created as floating fiberglass bowls with an interior ribbed structure. The rigging details were create such that electricity could safely flow through the structural hanging cables to power hidden lighting elements within the models.
